Why a logo should never cost $10

Let’s be real here, EVERYONE loves a good deal. Who doesn’t want to save money especially since running a business can be pricey, primarily in the beginning stages. Costs like logo design, web design and advertising can easily add up. Though it might be tempting to take a price cut on a logo it is a BIG NO!

Purchasing $10 Logos from Fiverr, Canva or another graphic designer you met online are not part of a “legitimate” logo design industry. The end results you receive from sources such as these are either many times plagiarized graphics or a template which will be used by many other businesses making you look like everyone else.

Especially as a small business owner. Risking your company at the beginning stages is a HUGE risk and setting your company up for failure. If you truly take pride in your business and believe in your business the initial investment and spend on good branding is an investment you will get return on.

Although unseen the logo process is super intensive starting from research to sketching to developing, feedback with revisions and finally finalizing. If someone is selling you a logo for $10 what does that truly mean? Well in simple terms it means they would be making less than $2 an hour, does that really make sense?

Starting first with a cheap logo and eventually going down the road with a professional Designer might sound like a good idea but it’s not wise. Changing your logo too frequently is a no no. I’ve mentioned in the past about rebranding and yes that’s ok but if you do it too often it will be worse in the long run for you business. Your logo is meant to build credibility with brand recognition and changing it too frequently will make you have to start from scratch.
